This medal is awarded for Outstanding All Round Achievement and Leadership in the Graduating Class in All Disciplines of the BS-MS (Dual Degree) Programme. This award is based on the CPI and participation in student activities (co-curricular, extra-curricular, sports and student activities within the Department)
PROFICIENCY MEDALS 2013
This medal is awarded for the Best Academic Performance in Each Discipline of the BS-MS (Dual Degree) Programme. There will be four proficiency medals one each for Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. Student with highest CPI score in a given Discipline on completion of the 5-year course will be awarded a Proficiency medal in that Discipline.
Chiraag joined IISER Bhopal as an INSPIRE Fellow in 2008. He was awarded the C.N.R. Rao Education Foundation Prize for securing the highest CPI in the second semester. He has been the recipient of several awards and fellowships including the Business Plan Competition Prize of IIT Kanpur and the Indian Academy of Science Summer Research Fellowship. He has been a student nominee and a special invitee of the IISER Bhopal senate. Chiraag is also passionate about football and countryside cycling. He has now chosen to join the M.Sc. programme in Cognitive Science School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, Scotland.
Awarded to Arshad Akbar for best academic performance in Chemistry Arshad has secured a SPI of 10 on a 10 point scale in three consecutive semesters. His research interests primarily are in the areas of ultrafast molecular spectroscopy and interfacial electron transfer dynamics. In addition, he also evinces a keen interest in understanding the charge carrier relaxation dynamics in semiconductor nanoparticles. Arshad has chosen EMORY University, Atlanta, USA for his doctoral studies to help realize his research ambitions.
Mahesh joined IISER Bhopal as an INSPIRE Fellow in 2008. He has qualified the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) held in 2013 securing an all India rank of 53 in Mathematics. He has been the recipient of the DAAD WISE fellowship in 2011. Mahesh has been an outstanding student through his course of study securing a CPI of 9.04 on a 10 point scale. He has received admissions offer into the Ph.D. programme at the University of Oklahoma, USA
Mukund joined IISER Bhopal as an INSPIRE Fellow in 2008. He won several fellowships including, the Indian Academy of Science Fellowship and has two international peer reviewed journal publications to his credit. Mukund has received admission offers into the Ph.D. programme from International Max Planck Research School, Hamburg, Germany, Carnegie Mellon University, USA and Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland.
